Currently Michelle is accepting new clients and seeing clients through telehealth services due to COVID 19. Limited in person sessions are also available. Telehealth sessions are via video and are conducted over a secure platform called doxy. me. You only need a laptop, tablet, ipad or cell phone with a wifi connection to access the services. Phone sessions are also an option. Most insurance companies are covering telehealth counseling as part of benefits. So don't let anything get in the way of stepping into the counseling services that you need.

Has life become overwhelming and stressful? Do you feel lost?
Are you or your child/teen struggling with emotions?
Has parenting become stressful and challenging?
Is your marriage struggling?
Are you ready to learn new skills to help effect change so you can be happy again?
:If you answered yes to any of these questions, I can help you! Welcome to my practice. If you are new to therapy or if you have been struggling for awhile, I hope that I can make you feel right at home in my office and give you a place to talk about your struggles, your emotions and the things that are making life a challenge. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who works with adults, couples, children and adolescents. Whether you are a couple trying to work through hurt in your relationship, or the new mom struggling with postpartum depression, or the dad struggling with anxiety and stress at work trying to provide for his family, or a woman struggling with a transition in life, a loss or a divorce, I am here to help you find the right path forward. I also treat children and teens who present with anxiety, depression, attention issues and other emotional and behavioral concerns.
Change is difficult. Finding the right therapist who is the best fit for you, your child or your family is an essential part of successful therapy. I believe in client centered therapy and meeting my clients where they are at in this change process. Together, we can find the solutions to the problems that you are experiencing. I am truly appreciative of being able to walk with my clients through their struggles and help them get to a better place, whatever and wherever that might be.
For adults I offer individual therapy sessions as well as couples therapy sessions. I have an eclectic approach to therapy and will often combine cognitive behavioral strategies with solution focused techniques to help you change thinking patterns that contribute to your distress as well as to come up with some strategies and coping skills for your individual situation.
I often incorporate mindfulness and relaxation strategies to help reduce anxiety, stress and depression. I also take a holistic approach to therapy, making sure that you are functioning well in all areas of your life. I thoroughly enjoy working with couples as well. Nurturing our relationships is such an important but often overlooked part of our lives. If you are looking for faith based counseling, I will gladly incorporate elements of Christian counseling into your individual or couples sessions as well.
In addition, I treat families and children in my practice and have a passion for working with both as I was trained as a family therapist from early in my career. I offer individual and family therapy to help you and your child learn new ways of thinking and feeling. With children I have found play therapy to be an effective way to engage in treatment over traditional talk therapy. Through the use of therapeutic games, your child can explore their feelings and work through them too. I have been working with children, adolescents and families for over twenty years and truly love the energy and perspective children bring to the therapy room. As a therapist, I firmly believe in working with and partnering with parents so I take a collaborative approach. Through family therapy, I will help you to find the right strategies to effectively parent your child and address his or her individual needs. I have found that no strategy works for every child or adolescent, but I am hopeful that together we can find the right fit for you and your child/adolescent.
For my adolescent clients, I strive to make therapy a place where they feel that they can talk about anything, especially if they don't feel like they are being listened to anywhere else. Adolescence is a time when your teen is trying to discover themselves and who they are, and there may be struggles in that process. For teens, it is important to have a level of confidentiality in therapy where they can share exactly what they are feeling and maybe say things aloud for the first time that they've been holding in for a long time. Adolescents are experiencing more challenges with anxiety, stress, depression and social pressure more now than ever. Through counseling I hope to provide the support they need to navigate all of this and thrive.
So if you are in need of support in any area of your life, please reach out to start counseling today. I would love to come alongside you and help you to get to your "best life" ahead.
